My name is PJ O'Brien and I am a BMX racer.  I started racing when I was 5 years old, and not long after, had a little setback.  I flipped the gate and my left arm got pinned under it.  I spent two weeks in the hospital and had 6 surgeries under the care of Dr. Stankovits and Dr. Risin, but all along I was determined to get back on my bike and race.

That following year, I had the comeback of my life (so far)--I finished #1 in the state, region, and nation for 6 year old rookies and nothing can stop me now!
When I turned 7, I created a video called "I Ride, I Wear" that teaches why it is important to wear a helmet.

Winning may be important to other people. I am not always winning, but after what I have overcome, riding my bike is winning!
